Digitized Stalking Is the New World Order

picture-15You’re being followed. Stalkers are everywhere, even in your pocket.

That’s the warning Wednesday from the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the San Francisco-based civil liberties group.

In a “white paper” entitled On Locational Privacy, and How to Avoid Losing it Forever, the group warns how everyday ways of life and our gadgets are transforming us into a digitized stalking society.

“Over the next decade, systems which create and store digital records of people’s movements through public space will be woven inextricably into the fabric of everyday life. We are already starting to see such systems now, and there will be many more in the near future,” the report said.

The EFF writes that threats to “locational privacy” include:
* Monthly transit swipe-cards.
* Electronic tolling devices (FastTrak, EZpass, congestion pricing)
* Cellphones.
* Services telling you when your friends are nearby.
* Searches on your PDA for services and businesses near your current location.
* Free Wi-Fi with ads for businesses near the network access point you’re using
* Electronic swipe cards for doors.
* Parking meters you can call to add money to, and which send you a text message when your time is running out.

“In the world of today and tomorrow, this information is quietly collected by ubiquitous devices and applications, and available for analysis to many parties who can query, buy or subpoena it or pay a hacker to steal a copy of everyone’s location history,” the report said. “It is this transformation to a regime in which information about your location is collected pervasively, silently, and cheaply that we’re worried about.”

Interessant finde ich auch die Kommentare zu Britischem UFO-Hacker drohen bis zu 60 Jahre Haft:

Super Mann! Weiter so! Ich finde es super wenn jemand endlich mal die ganzen Geheimnisse der Staaten aufdeckt 🙂 Area51 etc….
das ist leider genau der Teil der seine ganze Geschichte unglaubwürdig macht. Denn er war nicht im Stande mal die Druck Taste für ein Screenshot zu benutzen….

Interessant was die Leute zu dem Thema da alles so von sich geben.

60 Jahre scheint ein Standardstrafausmaß für Hacker zu sein, denn auf ZDNet lese ich gerade Hacker “Iceman” drohen 60 Jahre Gefängnis:
“Max Butler bekennt sich schuldig, fast zwei Millionen Kreditkarten gestohlen zu haben. Der Schaden beträgt insgesamt 86 Millionen Dollar. In den 90er Jahren galt er als Superstar der Sicherheitsindustrie….”

Slacken auf der Slackline

Rene hat mich in einem Kommetar freundlicher weise, darauf aufmerksam gemacht.

Auf Wikipedia findet man dazu;
Slacken (Slacklinen, Slacklining) ist eine Trendsportart ähnlich dem Seiltanzen, bei der man auf einem Schlauchband oder Gurtband balanciert, das zwischen zwei Befestigungspunkten gespannt ist.

Im Gegensatz zum Balancieren auf dem Drahtseil, wo das Seil so straff gespannt ist, dass es sich kaum bewegt, dehnt sich eine Slackline unter der Last des Slackliners: Sie verhält sich dadurch sehr dynamisch und verlangt ein ständiges aktives Ausgleichen ihrer Eigenbewegung. Die Anforderungen des Slackens an den Sportler sind ein Zusammenspiel aus Balance, Konzentration und Koordination; dadurch eignet es sich sehr gut als Zusatztraining für Sportarten wie Klettern, Skifahren, Kampfsport, Reiten, Voltigieren und andere Sportarten, die ein gutes Gleichgewichtsgefühl voraussetzen…..

Nun wird es auch für mich langsam Zeit, es zumindest einmal zu versuchen, bevor ich wirklich zu alt werde dafür. Denn, man ist zwar so alt, wie man sich fühlt, aber mit Gehstock wird es trotzdem nicht mehr so richtig klappen.
